2025-2026 Media Fellow
Colin Harden is a writer, audio producer, and emerging filmmaker based in Charlotte, North Carolina. He creates narrative and documentary work that centers community, identity, and social impact.
Colin has also developed and produced original podcasts that amplify overlooked voices and stories, including the documentary podcast, A Seat at the Table in collaboration with Arts Plus, and Harriet Tubman: Greatest American Hero, a narrative audio project exploring legacy and liberation. He also co-produces Finding Hope in the Climate Crisis with environmental advocate Michelle Lewis, a podcast born from the Outer Banks Environmental Film Festival. His collaborators include the Peace Garden Project, Epoch Tribe, and the Outer Banks Environmental Film Festival, Levine Museum of the New South, and NPR among others.
Currently, Colin is producing a documentary podcast supported by the NC Black Alliance—focused on Charlotte’s environmental justice history and the communities leading today’s movement for equitable change.
Beyond audio, Colin is expanding into film and experiential storytelling, including a Black history golf cart tour business that reimagines Charlotte’s black history as foundational to the city’s cultural identity. Across all mediums, his mission is to connect people through story and to make creative media a catalyst for local transformation. He is a graduate of Elon University with a BS in Music Technology and the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with an MFA in Creative Producing.
